EVENING RESTAURANT RE-OPENING

We wanted to say a big thank-you to everyone who filled in one of our Evening Restaurant Questionnaires. It was really helpful to have such a lot of constructive feedback.
Overwhelmingly customers commented that they didn’t realise we were open in the evening and those who did sometimes perceived us as expensive or not offering value for money. It was also very clear that whilst customers liked the idea of organic food, they didn’t like the consequent impact on prices!
We also asked a few questions regarding the type of restaurant people wanted; and although there were a lot of people who enjoyed formal dining, the majority seemed to prefer casual dining (although quite a few did tick both!). The general consensus was that people wanted an affordable casual dining experience in a more relaxed atmosphere, with the same emphasis on quality produce and our “fresh homemade style”,
Menu preferences varied quite a bit, however a few common themes emerged, ranging from “Wholesome, Hearty and Rustic”, through Mediterranean to classic English/British.
Whilst most people loved our varied entertainment programme, the majority preferred this to be separate from the dining experience.
The prize-winners for a meal for two in the Restaurant will be contacted next week with details being published in the next newsletter.
Our New Menu is finally ready
Well it’s taken a few months, but yes the new menu is finally ready. Taking in to account all of your feedback we have decided to stay with what we think is really important - well sourced, local produce, cooked well and eaten with people you care about.
With our new Head Chef Julien at the helm, we have decided to reopen in the Evenings as a Small Plate Restaurant (think, Tapas, think Mezze or Sushi, but with British and Continental influences), tasty dishes of food to be passed around and shared.
Small Plates offer a relaxed, social and fun way of eating. This type of food is perfect for large groups celebrating over a great selection of dishes to pass around; an intimate meal for two finished with a shared chocolate fondue, or just those who fancy some olives and bread sticks with a drink from our fully licensed bar.
Opening Dates
We will be previewing our new-style Restaurant menus on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm – 11pm (with last orders for the kitchen at 9pm), starting this Saturday, May 22nd. This will be the second phase of our consultation, so please come along and let us know any thoughts you may have of the style/dishes and we will continue to tweak the offering before the launch proper.
