David Campbell

8pm (Doors 7.30pm)

David Campbell is the only member of Birmingham's (and Aberdeen's) most celebrated singing family still active on the folk scene.  His grandparents were traditional singers from the ballad-rich north-east of Scotland.  His father was prominent and influential in the folksong revival of the '60s, and a prolific writer of songs now often regarded as traditional.

Master of the unaccompanied singing tradition in which he was raised, David also accompanies himself, usually on 5-string banjo - which he frails in the old-time manner - or ukulele.
